In his professional life Mike also served as Founder & CEO of HMG Capital Advisory Group and as operating partner at Behrman Capital. Mike was group Executive/Corporate Vice President of the Global Purchasing Group of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) and Group Executive/Corporate Vice President of the Management Consulting Services Group of EDS. It was in this position that he built a $250 million consulting business and initiated a merger with AT Kearney, making EDS one of the top 10 consulting firms worldwide. Prior to this, Mike was managing partner of the Coopers and Lybrand LLP consulting group, New York region.

On a personal level, Mike was a modest and kind man, and he was also a wonderful friend. Mike loved making a difference in people's lives; that was his passion and inspiration. And yet he was a private man who kept a small, loyal and caring inner-circle.

For those of us fortunate enough to call him friend, he was a tremendous friend. Mike had the great and rare ability to take any concept or idea and then frame it such a way that the rest of us could see it more clearly. He possessed style and charisma, yet was humble, kind and understanding to all who knew him.

He was the epitome of someone who had never meet a stranger and for whom six degrees of separation was never more than 2 degrees. Mike taught me to understand and appreciate the importance of honor, hard work, fair dealing and full commitment; principles he practiced every day of his long and magnificent life.

I find myself everyday reflecting, benefiting and passing on the wisdom of this "ole sage". Mike once told me "Spend some time with me, blue eyes. You'll learn more than if you did an internship in a company." I did indeed. I learned about business; I learned about Mike and I learned about life.

For a fortunate, and surprisingly large club, he was the single most lucid, eloquent and encouraging force in their lives for many years and will be for many years to come.

Mike is irreplaceable on every level; I will miss him beyond words...
